A BIT ABOUT ME:
Before we jump into the presentations, I’d love to tell you a little about who I am. I’m Robyn Gotch. I grew up in Wisconsin, but Texas has been my home for over ten years now — and I adore it. It’s such a wonderful place to let creativity flourish.
I’m an award‑winning quilt creator and long‑arm quilter, and I’ve made hundreds of custom quilts over the years. Some were commissioned, some were heartfelt gifts, and plenty are still with me because I just couldn’t part with them.
My quilting adventure started thanks to a friend from our bowling league. She shared her quilts with me, and I was stunned that something so beautiful could also be so practical. From that moment on, I was hooked.
That spark turned into a lifelong journey. I’ve even built a separate quilting studio — a space designed purely for creativity and movement. Now and then, I host small‑group sew days there. It’s such a joy to share that space with others.

In this presentation, we take a fun and eye‑opening look at how quilting has changed over the years — often more than we realize. Many of these shifts have happened within our own lifetimes, and seeing them laid out side‑by‑side can be both nostalgic and inspiring.
I also talk about the huge amount of information we’re exposed to every day and how we can use it to make our quilting journey more enjoyable rather than overwhelming. As always, I bring plenty of quilts to share, along with examples that tie directly into the topics we explore. Because this presentation includes digital content, a multimedia setup is needed.
