Snowman Banner

Snowman Banner is the last of my projects completed for 2020. With this banner quilted and hung, it completes the look on either side of my door for the holidays.

Snowman banner Design

I designed two banners at the same time this fall. My goal was to create quilts to hang on either side of my door for the holidays.

The first one, Santa Banner, was completed just in time for Christmas. Unfortunately, it took a tad longer to complete Snowman Banner. This was because of the number of customer projects needing to be completed for the holidays.

When I created both of these, I wanted to make them very different and colorful so I choose reds and greens for Santa. For Snowman, I used blues and silvers. The contrast, as you can see above is pretty and very festive.

Like the first banner, this one consists of paper-pieced blocks. In the center is a custom applique design.

I love paper-pieced blocks for their accuracy and sharpness.

Custom Quilting

These quilts are so easy to add custom elements. For the blocks I chose a specific motif that looks like a snowflake. The inside area has ruler work straight lines in the background. I also added fun custom motifs inside the snowman.

The finished quilt is cute and can be seen so well from the road – exactly what I want.
