Bamboo Roses

  • Quilting

I have some really great fabrics, but their scale is very large. For this quilt, Bamboo Roses, I wanted to find a way to showcase them. I did the normal thing, looking through Pinterest, and paging through magazines and books. Ultimately, I chose to combine elements from a couple of examples. I love the effect.

This is another Cousin quilt given to Cheryl! The roses are a perfect match for her lovely personality.

Bamboo Roses

The focal fabric has huge roses on a mostly white background. As I looked through my stash, I found some fabrics that were perfect compliments.

E2E Quilting

As I looked through my designs, one jumped out at me. Abstract Rose E2E mimicked the motifs in many of the fabrics.

This design also provided just enough texture as well.

Quilt Back

The backing fabric is so pretty, and while the quilting shows, it isn’t enough to take away from the pattern.

Do you save backing fabric to be used on special projects?
